IAB reports U.S. Internet ad revenue grew 35% in 2006

New York—Internet ad revenue in the U.S. reached $16.90 billion last year, up 35% over 2005, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

Internet advertising in the fourth quarter totaled $4.80 billion, up 35% over the same period in 2005, according to the report.

Revenue from keyword search accounted for 40% of total Internet ad revenue in 2006, compared with 41% in 2005.

Revenue from display advertising, including banner ads, sponsorships and rich media, made up 32% of total online advertising last year, compared with 34% in 2005.
