IBM to acquire customer analytics company Tealeaf

Armonk, N.Y.—IBM Corp. will acquire Tealeaf Technology, a San Francisco-based company that specializes in customer experience management. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition, expected to close this quarter, will extend IBM's Smarter Commerce marketing platform, providing automated customer-buying analysis of the success of campaigns delivered via websites and mobile devices. Tealeaf has more than 450 customers worldwide, including Best Buy, Dell Inc. and Wells Fargo. When the acquisition is complete, Tealeaf will be merged into IBM's Enterprise Marketing and Management unit.
