IBM acquires Kenexa

Armonk, N.Y.—IBM Corp. has paid $1.3 billion to acquire Kenexa Inc., whose socially based recruiting and talent management solutions are expected to augment IBM's business operations services. Kenexa's software handles a variety of human resources tasks, including recruiting, hiring, orientation, compensation and employee engagement. Based in Wayne, Pa., it has 8,900 customers, including Boeing Co., General Electric Co and Verizon Communications.
