IBM Global to serve Dell corporate customers

Published on .

New York--IBM Corp. and Dell Computer Corp. announced Monday a deal that could be worth as much as $6 billion in which IBM Global Services will provide computer services to Dell corporate customers. The deal builds on a $16 billion technology pact made in March between the two companies, which gives Dell broad access to IBM components. Early next year, Dell will start offering its U.S. corporate customers a range of installation and on-site warranty services from IBM Global Services for Dell's desktops, notebooks, workstations, network servers and data storage products. IBM Global Services is the world's largest computer services provider, with revenue of $29 billion in 1998.
