IBM, J.D. Edwards in collaborative commerce deal

Armonk, N.Y.--IBM Corp. and J.D. Edwards & Co. together will develop and market collaborative commerce software. Big Blue and Denver-based J.D. Edwards, a supply chain software developer, will target wholesale distribution companies and governmental agencies. Under the marketing and sales terms of the deal, IBM will supply the leads, while J.D. Edwards will do most of the selling. With regard to product development, IBM will provide much of the hardware and consulting, and J.D. Edwards, the underlying e-business software.
