IBM launches business intelligence campaign

Somers, N.Y.--IBM Corp. debuted Wednesday a $30 million integrated marketing campaign to promote the company's capabilities in business intelligence, which is the gathering, management and analysis of data on a company's customers, products and services. In the fourth-quarter marketing effort, which is a new facet of IBM's ongoing e-business campaign, the company will feature its server and storage hardware, database software and consulting services. Business intelligence will become a central focus of IBM's Global Services and "Magic Box" server campaigns. The business intelligence campaign will use print, television, direct mail and Internet marketing to reach marketing and information technology directors in the insurance, financial and retail industries.
