IBM launches new Web infrastructure services

Somers, N.Y.--IBM Corp. on Monday announced across-the-board support of open Internet standards for its infrastructure software--known as middleware--to help businesses improve their Web services. The company also announced new capabilities in its software for businesses operating on the Web, including features for securing high-volume transactions and integrating complex business processes. International Data Corp. estimates the market for infrastructure software and services that simplify integration of business processes will be about $50 billion by 2005.
