IBM, Siebel strike worldwide marketing pact

Somers, N.Y.--IBM Global Services has struck a deal with Siebel Systems, San Jose, Calif., to assist Siebel in building and marketing its Web-based customer service software packages. IBM is forming business teams within its Customer Relationship Management Services practice to assist in the venture. They will operate throughout North America, Asia and Europe, assisting Siebel in software configuration and marketing programs. The pact comes on the heels of a recent IBM/Siebel agreement to build and market jointly developed database and front-office software packages.
