IBM, SOCOG launch Olympic corporate sponsorship site

Armonk, N.Y.--IBM Corp. and the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (SOCOG) have launched a Web site (www.olympics.com) for the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. For the first time, the official Olympic Web site will offer online corporate sponsorships and banner opportunities. New York-based Phase2Media and Sydney-based BMCMedia.com will spearhead the marketing effort to sign on corporate sponsors for the venue. Internet-based companies will be among those approached.
