White Plains, N.Y.--IBM Corp. said Wednesday that it has developed a series of b-to-b initiatives designed to make it easier for companies to process payments via corporate smart cards and other techniques. IBM said it will open an applications-testing laboratory and release a series of products supporting Identrus Trust Systems-an initiative by 47 financial institutions to release encryption standards for b-to-b payments. The testing laboratory will allow companies to verify that their payment systems are Identrus compliant. IBM's future line of applications will allow companies to quickly support payments and purchases with other Identrus-compliant businesses.
