Amsterdam, The Netherlands--The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers board has approved the addition of "limited sponsored generic top-level domains." The sponsored top-level domains were recommended and will be funded, ICANN said, to fill community needs, and will be restricted to specific areas such as not-for-profit policy organizations. The board also approved a reform plan for the organization involving the appointment of a new board.
