IDG looks for new business opportunities

Published on .

Boston--In a move that seems to indicate an aggressive strategy focused on growth, International Data Group announced the appointment of Colin Crawford as VP-new business development and operations.

In his new position, Crawford will analyze new business opportunities and handle acquisitions and alliances for IDG.

Most recently, Crawford was president-CEO of Mac Publishing L.L.C., the publisher of Macworld.

“Growth is the best by-product of computer industry change, and IDG is adding horsepower to grow by buying and partnering with media companies as well as by starting them,” said Pat Kenealy, IDG’s CEO, in a statement. “A decentralized company like ours names corporate vice presidents very rarely, but Colin's nearly two-decade track record at IDG, most of it running business units, has earned him the respect and the trust of the dozens of IDG publishers and country managers worldwide.”
