Framingham, Mass.—IDG Communications U.S. announced executive promotions in the wake of last month's naming of Michael Friedenberg as CEO of IDG Communications U.S. and David Hill as president of IDG Communications worldwide.
Peter Longo assumes the new position of chief digital officer. He was most recently CEO of the IDG TechNetwork and IDG Consumer & SMB; he will retain his responsibilities as IDG TechNetwork CEO. Friedenberg, who was appointed CEO of IDG Communications U.S. last month, succeeds Longo as CEO of IDG Consumer & SMB.
The company also named John Gallant chief content officer for IDG Communications U.S., a new role. He was previously chief content officer for IDG Enterprise.
Separately, Jim Sullivan has been named president of IDG International Publishing Services, succeeding Hill. Sullivan, who was VP-licensing at IDG for almost 10 years, will continue to manage the licensing portfolio.
