IDG enters alliance with Taiwanese media company

International Data Group, Boston, announced Thursday an alliance with the Infopro Group, an information technology media company in Taiwan. Under the terms of the agreement, IDG will become a shareholder in Infopro, which will acquire licensing rights from IDG to publish Taiwan Computerworld, PC World Taiwan and related online services in Taiwan. The two companies also agreed to cooperate in other publishing activities across Asia, including veture capital investments in Chinese-language IT online services. Infopro also publishes five other IT publications, including PC Magazine Taiwan, PC Week Taiwan and PC Computing, under license from Ziff Davis; Electronic Engineering Times Taiwan, under license from CMP Media; and e-CIO, which includes syndicated information from CMP's Information Week and Network Computing.
