Published on .

Boston--International Data Group announced Monday that it will launch Bio-IT World, a new publication that will cover the technology information needs of the life sciences market.

The magazine, which will debut in March, will examine the nexus of information technology in the life sciences, including the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, biochemical, health care and agricultural industries. The magazine will have an initial controlled circulation of 25,000 and will debut at IDG World Expo's BioITWorld Conference & Expo in March.

Kevin Davies will be editor-in-chief of the magazine. He is the founding editor of Nature Genetics and author of “Cracking the Genome: Inside the Race to Unlock Human DNA,” an account of the human genome project. Most recently, Davies served as editor-in-chief of Cell Press, where he directed the launch of three new journals, including Cancer Cell.
