Boston--International Data Group on Monday announced the October launch of CIO Germany, one of the country's first magazines devoted to bridging the gap between IT issues and strategic business decisions. The monthly, which will have an initial circulation of 55,000, marks the first time CIO has been introduced to a European audience. With CIO Germany, advertisers will be able to tap into Germany's IT market, projected to grow at a rate of 9.6% by 2002, according to IDG. With the launch of CIO Germany, CIO will be published in nine countries, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, China and India. On Monday, IDG rival CMP Media L.L.C. announced the November launch of Optimize, which will be a 70,000-circulation monthly targeting C-level business technology executives.
