IDG names Ostrow president-publisher of ‘InfoWorld’

Published on .

San Francisco—International Data Group’s InfoWorld announced Tuesday that Bob Ostrow has been named president-publisher, a new position.

Most recently, Ostrow was publisher of IDG’s PC World. Sales, marketing and events departments will report to Ostrow, who will work in InfoWorld’s Framingham, Mass., office.

Editorial responsibilities will be managed by Kevin McKean, whose title has been changed from CEO-editorial director to chairman-editorial director. McKean and Ostrow had similar management roles when they worked together at PCWorld earlier in this decade.

Although InfoWorld posted a decline in print ad pages last year, according to IMS: The Auditor, the InfoWorld unit as a whole grew because of strength in its online and event business, according to Paul Calento, VP-marketing for the unit.
