Boston--International Data Group announced Monday it has entered into an agreement with Zinio Systems Inc. to offer digital delivery of its publications to readers worldwide. The electronic publications are completely reproduced in digital form--including advertisements--via the Internet. Network World and InfoWorld are currently offering this technology to their readers, and PC World and Gamepro are beta testing it. Other IDG publications also have plans to introduce the technology in the near future. The interface promotes interaction by providing readers with the opportunity to zoom, search, hyperlink, highlight and make electronic notations in the magazine. For advertisers, the technology allows potential customers to link directly to advertisersâ Web sites. The digital format is also designed to make it easier to track sales leads electronically.
