IDG sues Ziff Davis Media for copyright infringement on 'CIO'

Published on .

Boston--International Data Group this week sued Ziff Davis Media Inc., its chief rival, alleging copyright infringement on IDG's CIO Magazine. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Delaware, alleges that Ziff Davis' CIO Insight, to be launched in May, too closely resembles CIO and related efforts on the Web, e-newsletters and events. The suit has 13 counts, including trademark dilution and unfair competition. A spokeswoman for Ziff Davis said the company had not yet been served with the lawsuit, but that the alleged charges are without merit.
