Every year for nine years now, we have selected a new group of Innovators in Business Publishing, an elite group that now numbers more than 100.
In spotlighting these Innovators, we at Media Business have endeavored to show how talented, forward-thinking individuals can have a huge impact on their own companies and serve as an inspiration to all of us as we seek to foster a culture of innovation.
Our choices this year are an extremely impressive group whom we will honor at our annual Innovators luncheon June 6 at the Hilton New York. This event is a real celebration of our unique business media community.
This year's Innovators are driven by optimism, intelligence and, yes, innovation.
As John Ridding, CEO of the Financial Times, put it: “We've tried to see the disruption as an opportunity.” That really sums up what it takes to be an innovative media leader today.
The stories about these people are peppered with the new language of media, phrases such as “mobile first,” “tablet-optimized,” “personalized content,” “driving content at the right inflection points,” “building interactive agencylike services,” “offering real-time insights into users.” These ideas hopefully will inspire you to do some things you haven't imagined in the past.
