Increased digital subscribers fuel 'FT's' growth

London—Pearson's Financial Times Group, publisher of the Financial Times, posted strong digital growth in the first half of the year. The FT Group said its digital subscriptions increased to about 230,000 in the first half of the year, an increase of 34% compared with the year-earlier period.

Additionally, the FT Group said its registered users increased to 3.7 million in the same period, an increase of 49%. The FT group said it now has more than 1,500 direct corporate licenses.

The digital growth contributed to the group's revenue of $331 million in the first half of the year, an increase of 6% over the year-earlier period. In the same time frame, adjusted operating profit increased to $51 million, a growth of 3%.
