DM2, Watt Publishing partner on database

DM2-DecisionMaker, a b-to-b list company owned by Reed Business Information, announced it has created the DecisionMaker Agricultural Marketplace Database. Watt Publishing's data-from publications such as Egg Industry, Meat Processing and Watt Poultry USA-are the cornerstone of the new database. The data-base includes so-called "firmographic information," such as primary occupation, job function and business type.

DMA creates two exec VP positions

The Direct Marketing Association announced it has established two new exec VP positions. Ramesh Lakshmi-Ratan, senior VP-membership and market development, was promoted to exec VP-COO. DMA is conducting a search for the new position of exec VP-government & consumer affairs. DMA President-CEO John A. Greco Jr. said in a statement that consolidating its leadership and operating structure will better reflect and deliver on the goals of the group's strategic plan, adopted in January 2005.

World Marketing buys AMS Response

World Marketing, a direct marketing company, announced it has acquired AMS Response, a direct marketing lettershop. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. This marks Dallas-based World Marketing's second acquisition this year. It acquired MBS, a database marketing company, in March. AMS President Tom Duchene was named VP-business development for World Marketing-Los Angeles. AMS operations and staff will be merged into World Marketing's office in La Mirada, Calif.
