Direct Group, a direct marketing services company, announced Don McKenzie joined the company as president-CEO. Founder Manny Ortiz, who was chairman-CEO, said he will remain chairman. McKenzie was previously president-CEO of Petsky Prunier, a direct marketing investment bank, a position he held for just 11 months.
One to One Interactive acquires AdTools
One to One Interactive, a digital marketing agency, announced it has acquired AdTools, a branded desktop marketing communications technology provider. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. One to One said AdTools will complement its existing marketing technologies division, which includes advanced analytics and messaging platforms.
MeritDirect wins CMP's Light Reading lists
MeritDirect announced it has added Light Reading's postal and e-mail lists to the CMP Technology list portfolio it currently manages. Light Reading, a wholly owned subsidiary of CMP, publishes Byte and Switch and Unstrung magazines, as well as www.lightreading.com, a Web site for the telecommunications and storage industries; www.byteandswitch.com, a storage networking site; and www.unstrung.com, a wireless networking site. The lists are new to the market.
Deluxe to shutter New York call center
Deluxe Corp., a direct marketer of customized printed items for businesses, announced it will close its Syracuse, N.Y., customer service call center as part of previously announced plan to reduce costs. The facility, which employs 260 people, is expected to be closed during the first quarter of next year, according to the company. Costs associated with the closure are not expected to be significant, the company said.
