More industrial professionals report growth in second half of 2009

New York—Twenty-seven percent of industrial professionals report that their business grew in the second half of 2009, according to ThomasNet's “Industry Market Barometer” survey, results of which were released Monday. That figure is up from 17% reporting growth during the first half of 2009.

The survey respondents reporting growth cited two successful strategies: 36% said they were selling into new industries, and 33% said they were introducing new products or services.

“Industry is gearing up for a strong comeback. Those who are succeeding are combining creativity with cutting-edge technology strategies,” Eileen Markowitz, president of ThomasNet, said in a statement. The “Industry Market Barometer” surveyed 1,176 industrial professionals online earlier this year.
