New York-Unable to find a buyer, Standard Media International Inc. said Tuesday that it is suspending publication of the U.K. version of The Industry Standard
less than a year after its launch because of the deteriorating ad market, according to Dow Jones & Co. Inc. Standard Media has been in discussions with several potential partners for an outright sale or some sort of a strategic partnership. While those talks continue, the U.S. edition will be distributed to the U.K. following this week's issue. The U.K. edition had an initial circulation of 30,000 and was published by Standard Media Europe, a wholly owned subsidiary of tech publishing giant International Data Group. A spokeswoman in Standard Media's New York office could not be reached for comment.
