infoGROUP combines market research companies

Omaha, Neb.—Data giant infoGROUP, formerly infoUSA, announced that it has combined its Guideline and Opinion Research Corp. research units. Gerard Miodus, president of Opinion Research, will assume responsibility for all Guideline operations in addition to those of Opinion Research.

“Market research is an important and growing part of infoGROUP’s business,” said Vin Gupta, chairman-CEO of infoGROUP, in a statement.

“Combining both Guideline and Opinion Research Corp. under a single management structure will allow us to realize significant synergies between the two companies and make both businesses stronger by enhancing their capabilities and the services they can provide to their customers.”

Separately, Todd Lowdon was named exec VP of e-commerce strategies for infoGROUP. He previously held senior management titles at LexisNexis, Ampent Inc. and AOL.
