InfoGROUP reports sales, income decline in Q4

Omaha, Neb.—Direct marketing and database holding company InfoGROUP reported a sales drop of 4% in the fourth quarter from the same period in 2007.

Fourth-quarter sales totaled $178.1 million, down from $185.8 million in the year-earlier period. Net income plunged 82% to $2 million, from $11.2 million in 2007's fourth quarter.

The company saw sales rise for the entire year. Revenue for 2008 hit $738.3 million, up 7% from $688.8 million in 2007. Net income for the year, however, declined 89% to $4.4 million, from $40.9 million for 2007. —Christopher Hosford
