Infogroup sells Opinion Research to private equity company

Published on .

Omaha, Neb.—Database marketing holding company Infogroup has sold its market research division, Opinion Research Corp., to Lake Capital Management, a Chicago-based private equity company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The sale of ORC continues Infogroup's efforts to consolidate its operations since going private last year, focusing on a core of data and marketing services. In October, the company sold its infoUK business, and in January, it sold its Expresscopy.com print business. In an interview last month, Infogroup President-CEO Clare Hart told BtoB that ORC contributed about $100 million of the company's $500 million in annual sales.
