infoGROUP taps new counsel in response to legal woes

Published on .

Omaha, Neb.—Big data holding company infoGROUP has named Thomas J. McCusker as its new exec VP-business conduct and general counsel, in response to recent shareholder lawsuits charging the company's former CEO with excessive expense reimbursements and corporate spending.

McCusker comes to infoGroup from Mutual of Omaha, where he was exec VP and general counsel. His new position at infoGROUP was created in response to an internal investigation and litigation this past summer that forced out former CEO Vinod Gupta.

The new role, entailing changes and oversight in corporate governance, had been filled on an interim basis by John Longwell, infoGROUP's general counsel and corporate secretary, who will assist McCusker in his transition at infoGROUP.
