San Francisco--An Internet shop serving corporate information technology professionals has launched what it claims is the first wireless advertising campaign, served on the home page of the AvantGo Inc. mobile information portal. Intraware Inc., Orinda, Calif., launched a brand awareness campaign for its Web-based services and software that is expected to run two weeks and reach 500,000 subscribers. AvantGo, San Mateo, Calif., provides news and information to owners of palm pilots and cellular phones. The trade publication The Industry Standard and Sprint are also running wireless advertising campaigns, but not in premium positions. Intraware's campaign was created and executed by the digital advertising agency Lot21, San Francisco. The budget for the campaign was undisclosed.
