Intel, China Telecom plan b-to-b project

Santa Clara, Calif.--Intel Corp. has signed a broad-ranging deal with China Telecom, China's state-run phone operator, to build a Web hosting platform to spur b-to-b Internet trading in that country. The project is part of Intel's ongoing expansion into China, where it recently committed to spending $400 million over the next two years to build a chip plant in Shanghai. China is Asia's second-largest country in terms of Internet penetration, after Japan.
