New York--Internet ad revenue totaled $5.95 billion in 2002, down 17% from 2001, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s Internet Ad Revenue Report.

The report, conducted by the New Media Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers, is based on information that is self-reported by all the major online Web publishers that sell advertising on their sites.

For the fourth quarter of 2002, Internet ad revenue totaled $1.5 billion, down 9.8% from the fourth quarter of 2001.

However, fourth-quarter revenue was up 2% from the third quarter of 2002, reflecting the first consecutive quarter-to-quarter increase since the second quarter of 2000.
