Internet advertising revenues up; search leads growth

New York—U.S. Internet advertising revenues totaled about $5.8 billion in the first half, a 26% increase from the same period in 2004.

The findings were announced Monday by the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Search engine advertising spending again led the growth, with 40% of online dollars—$2.315 billion—spent on search.

Internet advertising revenue for the second quarter totaled $2.985 billion, a 26% increase over the second quarter of 2004.
