Interpublic creates Mediabrands

New York—Interpublic Group announced the formation of Mediabrands, a new agency structure that will hold IPG’s media assets, including global media networks Universal McCann and Initiative; media negotiation agency Magna; media barter group Magna Trading; diversified agencies NSA, OSI and Wahlstrom; and Interpublic’s Emerging Media Lab.

The new agency group will be led by president-CEO Nick Brien.

Interpublic also announced that Matt Seiler has been named global CEO of Universal McCann, from president-CEO of PHD North America. Also, Michael Hudes has been appointed president of diversified media services and strategic development at Mediabrands, from global director of digital media at ClearChannel.
