Boston--A company that aims to deliver free portals for small and midsize companies that lack a Web strategy said Tuesday its marketing blitz has begun. Intranets.com, Woburn, Mass., will spend $10 million on a radio and TV campaign designed to draw traffic to its site. The goal is to increase its base of community companies from roughly 80,000 today to 500,000 by the end of the year, Steve Crummey, Intranets.com president and CEO, said. Appearing on CNN, ESPN, MSNBC and radio in 10 markets, the campaign was designed by Gearon Hoffman, Boston. Funds for the campaign come from a second, $20 million round of venture funding raised in November. Other details of the campaign were unavailable.
