iPad users to grow 90.1% this year

New York—The number of iPad users in the U.S. will reach 53.2 million this year, an increase of 90.1% over last year, according to data released by eMarketer. The research firm projected that the number of tablet users will increase to 90.8 million by 2015. Apple Inc.'s iPad continues to dominate tablet usage, although its market share is declining, according to eMarketer. Last year, iPads accounted for 83% of tablets in the U.S.; this year, they will account for 76.4%. By 2015, eMarketer projects, iPads will account for 68% of tablets.
