San Bruno, Calif.--Ironport Systems Inc. on Monday announced it has formed a partnership with Brightmail, a provider of spam-blocking technology, to offer additional spam filtering on Ironport's new C-60 appliance, a piece of hardware that sits on an enterprise server to handle e-mail flow. The C-60 was also formally introduced on Monday. The C-60, which is currently being used by Ironport customer Cisco Systems Inc., incorporates a filtering system that gives a rating to each piece of incoming mail and slows down e-mails with low ratings. It works alongside Ironport's Bonded Sender program, which is a "white list" of bonded, legitimate mailers.
