ITSMA reports tech marketing spending up

Lexington, Mass.—Technology marketing budgets and staff are on the rise this year, according to a new study by the Information Technology Services Marketing Association (ITSMA).

The study, which was based on responses from 29 ITSMA member companies—including AT&T Corp., Cisco Systems, GE Healthcare, Hewlett-Packard Co., IBM Corp. and Microsoft Corp.—found that 67% of IT companies plan to increase marketing spending in 2006.

The study also found that companies will increase marketing budgets by an average of 17% over 2005.Also, 57% of companies are increasing their marketing staff.
