In January 2011, NYTimes.com will introduce a metered subscription model for digital access that will allow visitors to read a limited number of free articles before payment is required. Although few details have been revealed, Robinson said in October that “readers referred from third-party sites such as blogs, social media networks and search engines [will have] access to that content without triggering the gate.”
