Top achievements of 2007:
"Completing the job of assembling a top-notch executive team at Mansueto Ventures" and "our performance as a business" were the company’s key accomplishments this year, Koten said. John Tebeau, who joined Inc. in 2005 as national sales manager, was promoted to publisher in May. Christine Osekoski, who joined Fast Company in April 2006 as national sales director, was named publisher in August. Exec VP Edward Sussman was appointed president of the new Mansueto Digital division. Loren Feldman, a former editor at American Lawyer, Money and George, was named editor. Harold Bolling, Mansueto Ventures’ former managing director of sales and marketing, became division publisher. On the business side, Koten said, "Inc. and Fast Company achieved a significant increase in advertising revenue in a weak market, improved subscription and newsstand sales and substantially improved our bottom line."
Top priorities for 2008: "Our goal is to build greater brand awareness within our target audiences using a combination of traditional and nontraditional methods," Koten said.
