New York—Journalism Online announced it has retained ITZ Publishing to lead its efforts in working with small and midsize newspaper companies.

Journalism Online is a company formed by Leo Hindery, Steven Brill and L. Gordon Crovitz to help media companies maximize online revenue. Under the plan, ITZ Publishing, which creates online programs for newspapers such as the Dallas Morning News and Denver Post, will help publishers affiliated with Journalism Online develop online subscriptions, micropayments and combined online/print subscription packages.

“There’s no higher priority today for publishers than the creation of strategies to maximize subscription and other paid content revenue opportunities. Our company has a history of working closely and in innovative ways with publishers, and we’re going to bring these approaches to this new partnership,” ITZ Publishing founder Greg Swanson said in a statement.
