Judge rules in favor of Ziff Davis in IDG complaint

Published on .

Wilmington, Del.--A federal judge has ruled in favor of Ziff Davis Media Inc. in a complaint lodged against it by International Data Group to prevent the launch of Ziff's CIO Insight. U.S. District Judge Roderick R. McKelvie ruled that "it is in the public interest to allow CIO Insight to compete freely in the marketplace." IDG sued Ziff in March alleging copyright infringement on IDG's CIO. Joe Levy, president-CEO of CXO Media, the IDG subsidiary that publishes CIO, said the company plans to pursue the case further. The debut issue of CIO Insight is now in circulation.
