Jupiter: European advertisers pull back online spending

London--More than a third of European advertisers are not spending online at all this year, according to a study by Jupiter Media Metrix Inc. The study, based on interviews with 113 major European advertisers, found that 40% will not spend any money on online advertising this year. Forty-two percent said they would spend between 1% and 5% of their total ad budget online, and 18% said they would spend more than 5% online. Categories of advertisers pulling back online spending include dot-com, media and telecommunications companies, Jupiter said.
