July 12 New York—JupiterResearch released Tuesday a report that found 79% of online small businesses conduct business-related online shopping regularly.
The report, “Small-Business Online Shopping: Understanding Online Research and Purchase Behavior,” found that 62% of small-business online purchases are influenced by familiarity or an existing relationship with a supplier.
“Traditionally, small businesses have bought from suppliers based on ongoing relationships, and we have found that they are emulating this same purchasing behavior online,” said Sonal Gandhi, JupiterResearch analyst and lead author of the report.
Also according to the report, comparison shopping influences nearly half of online small business purchases.
