New York—Online advertising will continue to grow over the next several years, led by several key industries, according to a March report by Jupiter Research. The report found that several categories will post double-digit compound annual growth rates by 2009, including automotive (33.8%), health care (19.7%), travel (18.3%) and household goods (15.1%).
Also in the report, Jupiter advised ad agencies and publishers to pursue industries that will grow quickly and represent sizable billings in online advertising.
Some of these fast-growing industries are computer hardware and software telecommunications, travel, financial services, automotive, and media and entertainment, according to Jupiter.
These industries are also expected to be the heaviest adopters of advertising optimization and targeting technologies, Jupiter said.
