Jupitermedia announces rival show to Comdex

Published on .

New York--Jupitermedia Corp. said it would launch Computer Digital Expo Fall 2003 in Las Vegas Nov. 17-21 to compete with Comdex.

The Computer Digital Expo, aimed at information technology professionals, will be held at the 1.8 million-square-foot Mandalay Bay Convention Center. It will be held twice a year beginning in 2004.

The fall event will be held during the same week that Comdex is scheduled to run "to make the transition as seamless as possible for the business and technology professionals who traditionally block out these dates in November," Jupitermedia said. Key3Media Group Inc., which produces Comdex, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week.

A spring Computer Digital Expo show is to be held annually in Boston.
