New York—Jim Kelly has been promoted from managing editor of Time to the newly created position of managing editor of Time Inc., effective June 15. In his new role, Kelly will work closely with John Huey, editor in chief of Time Inc., on policymaking and recruitment of editorial talent. Kelly has been managing editor of Time for nearly six years. He has been with the magazine for 28 years, starting as a writer for the Nation section and served as foreign editor during the first Gulf War. Huey said Kelly’s successor as Time’s managing editor will be named shortly.
