Kelsey Group reports mobile ad revenue to reach $3.1 billion by 2013

Princeton, N.J.—The Kelsey Group projects that U.S. mobile ad revenue will grow from $160 million last year to $3.1 billion in 2013.

Mobile revenue covered in the research firm’s report, “Going Mobile: The Mobile Local Media Opportunity,” includes search and display advertising. U.S. mobile local search revenue will grow from $20 million last year to $1.3 billion in 2013, according to the report.

Kelsey Group also announced the creation of a new advisory service to cover mobile Web marketing. The practice is led by Michael Boland, senior analyst and program director.
