Kemp named CEO of Northstar Travel Media

Published on .

Secaucus, N.J.—Former Penton CEO and Veronis Suhler Stevenson managing director Tom Kemp was introduced as the CEO of Northstar Travel Media on Wednesday. Kemp succeeds George Hundley, who is retaining his title as chairman of ProfessionalTravelGuide.com.

Boston Ventures, the private equity firm that owns Northstar Travel Media, which publishes Travel Weekly, tried unsuccessfully to sell the company last year. Despite troubled times in the travel industry, Kemp is optimistic about the future. “What I like about it is that it has a huge advertiser base, and it has wonderful long-term growth characteristics,” said Kemp, who is leaving Oakstreet Media, the media acquisition company he founded last year.
