Keyword search revenue up sharply in first half

New York--Internet advertising revenues for the first half of this year totaled $3.29 billion, a 10.5% increase from the same period last year, according to figures released Tuesday by the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Keyword search continued to lead the growth in Internet advertising, representing 29% of total ad revenues, up from 8% in the first half of 2002. Meanwhile, ad banner revenues accounted for 23% of this year's first-half revenues, down from 33% in the year-earlier period.
